Meet our Team

Rose

Rose Prout

FOUNDER
Accredited Exercise Physiologist, AEP, AES, ESSAM

Diploma in Pilates (Contemporary Pilates Method, tensegrity training)

Say hi to Rose – the founder of Centric Movement. Rose is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Pilates Instructor. She has been in the industry for over 20 years; even doing a stint over in London, working as a full-time Pilates teacher for 3 years.

Born and raised in Gilgandra NSW, she is a local to our area. Rose started Centric Movement in 2018, shortly after the birth of her first child. At the time, Rose was returning to the workforce and deciding whether to go back to her previous employer or start her own business. The time off meant that Rose needed to rebuild her client base – what better way to do this than jumping headfirst into business life!

After initially passing off the Darling Street location, Rose reconsidered. It has good bones and so much potential. Rose set to work – discovered the floorboards under the carpet, removed the blinds, lifted the ceiling, replaced the lights and suddenly Centric Movement was ready. In 2021, they cut through the brick wall and took over another room for Exercise Physiology.

Rose loves her clientele. She finds her work super rewarding – getting individuals moving who haven’t previously been exercising. Rose appreciates the fact that Centric Movement is the client's preferred health facility in a city spoiled for choice.

Rose prides herself on offering an intimate, movement-based centre that incorporates contemporary style Pilates. She believes in how her staff teach – so much so that in 2024 Rose is stepping into Exercise Physiology on a more full-time basis.

When Rose isn’t at the clinic, she is busy with Dubbo Athletics Club. She is a home body and loves spending time with her husband and two girls.

Special Interest Areas: Pregnancy, post-natal rehabilitation, Injury rehabilitation, Movement Assessments, Injury prevention programming.

Emily Bell

Pilates Instructor (Diploma in Contemporary Pilates, Tensegrity Training)

I’d like you to meet Emily, one of our Pilates Instructors here at Centric Movement. Emily specialises in Reformer and Pregnancy Reformer classes and has been with us for a few years. Emily has over 10 years’ experience as a Pilates Instructor and she is trained on all Pilates apparatuses.

She loves working with her team of dedicated health professionals and enjoys the whole vibe of Centric Movement. She says “It’s such a happy, relaxed environment here. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly.”

Emily has a personalised approach to training her clients. She appreciates the small class sizes as this gives her a chance to tailor the movement for everyone who attends.

Emily is also a pharmacist, but you’ll see her around our studio on Tuesdays and the weekends.

She’s a busy boy mum to three thriving children and while life is hectic, Emily enjoys running when she gets the chance.

Specialise Interest Areas: Pregnancy Pilates, Individual Assessments and programming, Reformer Group Classes.

Sarah Dunlop

Group Reformer Pilates Instructor

Meet Sarah, our Reformer Instructor here at Centric Movement. Sarah commenced with us in 2022 – previously she had a personal training business tailored to new and expecting mum’s. COVID, lockdowns and the birth of Sarah’s fourth child meant a pause in clients, and it was then that she found Centric Movement.

Sarah started off observing classes and teaching with us casually until she became familiar with our clients. Now, her classes are becoming a favourite on the timetable so you’re best to book in!

Sarah loves the smaller class sizes here; her clients come as strangers and leave as friends. She believes our Reformer classes are exactly what they should be like – focusing on breath connection and individuals becoming aware of their bodies. You can find Sarah here Mondays and Wednesdays – tailoring her approach to each client’s movement requirements.

Sarah is now a mum to four beautiful children. Spare time is not something Sarah is familiar with but when she’s not at work, she spends her time with her family.

We love having Sarah as part of our team and can’t wait to see her continual growth over the next little bit!

Stephanie Richardson

Group Reformer Pilates Instructor

I’d love for you to meet Steph, one of our Pilates Instructors at Centric Movement.

Steph works part-time with us – she is also a PDHPE teacher and a busy mum. Steph loves what Centric Movement encompasses – the atmosphere, the clients, and the staff.

She adores the open space studio and feels like she’s in her happy place every time she instructs a class.

She also says that “Centric Movement is a space based on the idea of moving to feel better.” Incorporating movement in life makes you feel good – and Steph is a big believer in this.

When clients come to Steph’s class, she focuses on offering a customised, self-paced workout free of judgment and expectations.

When Steph isn’t at work, she keeps active – particularly enjoying running and swimming. She has a young family of her own that keeps her busy and she loves being with them.

Yvonne Thomas

Can we all please welcome back Yvonne! Yvonne is returning to Centric Movement! After COVID restrictions and border closures, it was time to make a triumphant return to our studio. We can’t wait to have you back.

Yvonne has been in the fitness industry for 42 years. A Reformer Pilates instructor for 8 years, Yvonne is an absolute wealth of knowledge.

She first found Pilates after having major surgery. It was during the rehabilitation process that she found Reformer Pilates to be highly beneficial to her recovery. Back came Yvonne’s balance and she fell in love with the movement. As an advocate for the power of Pilates, Yvonne is a passionate teacher who modifies movement to suit each client.

Yvonne is super excited to reconnect with clients; she finds Centric Movement to be a personable and intimate space. She says, “it’s not like other studios with big numbers.” It’s a safe space for individuals to come and move their bodies.

When she’s not working, Yvonne enjoys exploring her creativity – she is particularly fond of drawing and painting. She also enjoys reconnecting with family who are geographically dispersed across Australia.

Special Interest Area: Reformer Classes on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

Kath Gersbach

Meet Kath Gersbach, The friendly face you’ll find at Reception. Kath has been with Centric Movement for eighteen months and loves the work-life balance she has been able to achieve here.

As the face of our business, Kath’s positive nature is an asset to our team. She’s more than a smiling face on the counter though – she assists in the daily operations of the business and keeps each business day to run smoothly.

When Kath isn’t on the front desk, you’ll find her in our Pilates classes – she’s actually one of Centric Movement’s first clients! Kath prioritises her health; working and training here aligns well with this.

Kath also enjoys spending quality time with her family and grandchildren. Working at Centric has provided her with more time to persue personal interests.

We love having Kath as part of our team.

ADMINISTRATOR

Georgie Kennedy

Let me introduce you to Georgie – another friendly face at reception! Georgie has been with us for two years. When you arrive at Centric Movement, she’s one of the first friendly faces you’ll see. Georgie takes care of our social media, administration tasks, invoicing, and phone calls.

Georgie is currently studying Exercise Physiology at UNE and Pilates through the National Pilates Training. She is in her second year of a four-year degree at UNE. Her goal is to become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist – we can’t wait to see this become a reality.

When she’s not on the reception desk, you’ll see Georgie attending classes. She is obsessed with the feeling she has after a class – completely in balance. She does a lot of other exercise including playing netball and finds Pilates very complimentary to her other forms of movement.

You’ll find Georgie on reception 2 days a week here – Thursdays and Friday. Her favourite thing about working here is seeing the transformation in clients; they rush in yet are completely grounded upon their exit.

Georgie is a social butterfly – which makes her perfect for the role! When she’s not helping our clients at work, you’ll find her socialising with family and friends, out exercising, enjoying coffee or playing with her dog.
